Who are the BCA?

Who are the Brukunga Community Association Inc. (BCA)?

The traumatic experience of the Cudlee Creek Bushfire in December 2019 was a catalyst for the Brukunga township to develop a unified voice and start creating positive change. In 2022, some community minded locals put their heads together to initiate a community survey to collect information and ideas from residents. Little did we know, but this was the start of something much, much bigger and led to the revival of the Brukunga Community Association Incorporated in March 2023 after the previous committee became defunct.

We are a small group with nine members on our main committee and a number of active locals on our sub committees. Although we haven’t been around too long, we are already kicking big goals!

Our aims are to:

  • Organise and support activities which promote community development in Brukunga and which improve, develop and protect the image, services, environment and amenities in the areas for the benefit of residents and property owners.
  • To convey the wishes and concerns of the Brukunga community to others, including local and state governments and service providers.
  • To influence decision making about any matters which affect the Brukunga community.

Current Projects

  • Improve community connection through reinvigoration of the Brukunga Community Hall.
  • Establish a community garden.
  • Work with council to shape new recreation opportunities within the township and beyond.
  • Lobby for better telecommunications in the district.
